No AOC, therefore no charter, therefore their charter 76s are just gathering dust; maybe they'll be sold off soon as there's no indication of any AOC in future, given their ownership. Also, their management contracts (109, S92, 76) never do much anyway. The new 155 is doing even less than normal for the time of year!

What with Prem' and "the slime" being in the state they are, Battersea and the events this year are in for a lean time with a lot less charter than usual!

Stella, you need to do some home work. Air Harrods is not "majority British owned" and therefore cannot have an AOC by the rules. Instead it operates under an umbrella arrangement with Capital Air Services of Oxford, whose AOC it does use. see http://www.airharrods.co.uk/documents/Terms-and-Conditions-2012.docx. I do note, though, that these are the "2012 terms and conditions" and not the 2013 ones.

When you say you haven't seen them lately, what exactly does that mean?

How about you use your common sense and stop being a pedantic wally.

Well G-FULM was airborne yesterday over Cambs as I shot this :)

So they must be legally still able to fly then!

Cheers

Both S76's were at Duxford yesterday see Duxford Diary 2013 - Page 27 - Key Publishing Ltd Aviation Forums (http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=121487&page=27)

Not anymore as far as I know. The agreement with Capital has ended according to my sources, and there is no new arrangement in place with another AOC holder at the moment to my knowledge.

I think Harrods are/were trying to obtain their own AOC, but are encountering problems due to not being "majority British owned", as stated by helihub.

Perhaps the recent flights over Cambs were private, related to the company's owner, or maybe training flights to keep their crews current?

I suspect that strictly that should be European rather than British, but whatever Egypt is not close enough

but whatever Egypt is not close enough

But are they still Egyptian owned or is it now Qatari?

Old Age Pilot, we are all grown ups here - I think - so next time don't be polite and hold back just tell me what you really think of me!!!!!!

Qatari's now own Harrods and have done for couple of years

rumour has it they have no AOC?

I checked this all out and it's perfectly true, and no umbrella arrangement either.

Shame not to see Air Harrods at Silverstone this year?

Its been a while without a flight now. Surely the Qataris need a helicopter! guess they have the deep pockets to sustain the high bills mounting.

Any news on Air Harrods, got some friends who work there and would be a shame to see it go away.

Ned,

They are still waiting for their AOC to be approved.

In the mean time they are servicing the private contracts they have.

The ops girls were there, and busy too - however their aircraft weren't there for reasons mentioned.
They had drafted in various operators to fly their customers.

Several months on, As the website only mentions "charter brokerage", I wondered is the AOC likely to come back anytime soon?

And what's happening with the pilots?

Another 3 months, do they still have employed pilots? If so what are they doing?

Just wondered
