A Chinook just went overhead here - about 2 miles east of Rochdale centre - at an estimated 500' agl, heading south east. Another rattled the windows here a couple of days ago... Any idea what's going on?

Dropping feed to farm animals trapped by the snow and also supplies for people in the same situation.

We get Chinooks quite often, also Tornado/ Eurofighter / Hercs and BBMF in summer, on our side of the Pennines. Low level training I guess, most often going North - South crossing Marsden / Holmfirth so only a few flying miles from your local, maybe on of these ?. SAR Seakings - infact one of those around yesterday about 6.30pm.:ok:
