I have a trip there in a few days time.

Apart from saying DON'T GO, has anyone any helpful suggestions.

Including any "airport charts".

Many thank in advance.

Might wanna post on the african forum, as Mogadishu is not in the Middle east.
Good luck

I belive he's flying to HCMM (Mogadishu) not VVTS (SGN - Ho Chi Minh City).

Best of luck, no charts published (at least no Jeppesen charts) however Turkish Airlines fly there often (sometimes with a340) :ugh:

The entire operation went very smoothly.

Even went fishing with another crew.... Never caught anything, but great walk.

SKA were very very good, the on airport accomodation camp was excellent: only one complaint: the bed as too hard. so take a camping roll up mattress.

The camp restauarant offered good food, and the bar was well supported.

ATC was accomodationg and efficient.

Turkish were there I am told from Geneva.

I was told ove 15 civil movements every day.

We received copies of the yet to be approved procedure, but the regulars fly overhead at 10k, crosswind, descend visual circuit, and land 05, reverse for departure.

Edit: As to Diversion, daylight only. IF you have Sat phone, call or get your opws to call and give plenty of warning of need to divert. I would think Dhabuti would be better diversion, but having been to Mougudishu I would be happy to divert. NO Mtce, but plenty of fuel. many engineers on site, but NO stock of spares....

Roaming cell phones no use....you need to buy a local sim card to get any contact on your mobile...Aircraft sat phones work OK...
