Hi Guys,

Could anyone here please say if this new EASA rating is to be renewed/revalidated like, say, an SEP(L) or an IR?

Are there any currency requirements to exercise the rating?

Is there to be a Flight Test for the issue of the rating, or is it to be issued on the recommendation of an FTO. I understand grandfathering rights are being sorted..

Cheers :-)

The rating does not need to be renewed or revalidated.

No.

Requirements listed at FCL.800. There is no requirement for a test; the course provider will have to sign a course completion certificate on your Aerobatic Rating application (http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/SRG2157FFenabled.pdf) form to the CAA. The AOPA syllabus contains an assessment of competence at the end of the course.

I understand grandfathering rights are being sorted.

"Grandfathering" has been sorted. See CAP 804, Part P, Page 32.
