The Det’ Commander, Gp Capt Johnny Stringer summed up how the exercise has gone: “We are delighted with how all our people and our aircraft are performing, and it’s invaluable training to work alongside our close allies in peacetime as we would in war”.

Must be the first time for the Typhoon at Red Flag ?

Me too - my push was in 1980 - even got a HUD shot kill of an "aggressor".

Debrief: "Goddam, where did you guys go?"

Me (mission commander) "To the target and back!"

Did we finally get Typhoon to Flag? If so, even better to see it's going well as I always thought it would. It took a lot of work over the years!

Pray tell me LM which jet were you flying at Nellis as an ExO that had a HUD camera.

Why is there a twin stick Typhoon at RED FLAG? Especially, when you consider it carries less fuel?

Because, despite all the 'two-seat loser' chat, they like to have someone to help them when leading COMAO packages? Often used to see Harrier T-birds on CQWI as well...

Quick question for those in the know.

The bomb mission symbols on the Typhoon.

That would be Libya or were they sent to Afghanistan ?

I can assure you the backseaters in the Harrier T-Birds on CQWI were never there to help out the frontseater!

500N - the mission markings are from Libya.
