Anyone with feedback or insights as to how first deliveries are going and early in-service feedback from operators? How many delivered and how many forecast to be delivered by year end etc?

Being a 'relatively' clean sheet design i have no doubt there will be some teething issues in the earlier SN's. However, appears to be a very capable machine and as it is a consideration for the boss, im trying to get some objective views and insights

I was at Love Field last week at the completions centre. What an aircraft! It's every bit a Gulfstream. The interiors are coming in under weight, but with an excellent build quality. There is talk that the 3600nm range will be upped further. A G280 has recently done a Hawaii - Savannah 4150nm flight. The weight may also be increased - all 'talk'.

In the sim - feels like a much bigger aircraft. Floats forever on approach f you let it - the wing is basically a 68% scaled version of a G550, very clean.

Authothrottles work a treat, as do the autobrakes. Mind you, the T/R's stop the thing very well on their own.

The planeview cockpit is quite amazing. HUD/EVS will be certified very soon. It even has the larger Gulfstreams auto descent mode should you loose the cabin.

The baggage bay (accessible in flight up to fl400) is cavernous. Get used to humping more bags around!

The toilet is a vaccum system with a large (7USG I think) holding tank. Potable water can be filled from inside or outside the aircraft. There is a digital level indicator behind the P1 seat by the jumpseat stowage area.

The cabin is I-touch controlled. (Temperature, lighting, mood lighting etc.) Cabin noise levels are reportedly very low.

The first customers have apparently been very happy. The aircraft has exceeded their expectations of it. Dispatch reliability has been good.

That's good to hear. Lets have hope Gulfstream have good sales, with that range will appeal to many business folk.

It's incredible that this design started off as the Westland thing with the high wing! (right?)

Thanks for the feedback.

Sounds promising. Very comprehensive comparison btw G280 and CL300. Almost a different league despite fuel burn claims of 7 to 12 % lower than cl300. Time and sales will tell...

There's no comparison between the CL300 and the G280. The 280 flys faster and farther on less fuel with a better cabin, avionics (this includes the new CL avionics revamp) and baggage hold. It requires a little less runway also.

The biggest plus with the G280 though is the excellent product support from Gulfstream.
