Mods - if this is against forum rules, please delete as I couldn't find anything relevant.

I have a signed watercolour print of a Vulcan over Lincoln Cathedral which I no longer want. Can anyone suggest the best place to sell it? Clearly I'd like to get as much for it as I can however I have no idea how much it is worth so ebay/Gumtree etc are not really an option.

Thanks.

JAJ,

I was given a similar print (not your's Mike) which I put in to a charity auction.

Searching Google for the artist produced a number of prices depending on the print. Proofs fetched more money than a signed print with remarkques a little more. The price was shown at around £120 and it fetched £125.

You could try a direct sale or as you mentioned eBay and set a limit price.

JAJ ... You might try a specialist Militaria Auctioneer like Wallis & Wallis of Lewes East Sussex (or others) ... at least you'll get a guide to value. Even if you decide not to sell via auction. May be a distance for you to travel but give them a call first ...

Thanks for the prompt replies guys. I'll contact them and see what they say. It's a signed Eric H Day print from 1984.

You could also try "Aces High" in Wendover. They regularly have aviation art sales (not sure about auctions) of well known artists.

There's an old (2006) thread here about the (late) artist. http://www.pprune.org/military-aircrew/253350-eric-h-day-aviation-artist.html

Saw one on E-*** for £5.99 :ouch:

...or you could donate it to one of the Vulcan station's Heritage Sites?
