View Full Version : Have we been demoted?

I say, chaps.* It rather looks like we've been defenestrated. Or at least demoted.

We lesser beings of the 'Other Aircrew Forums' (ooher missus) always used to follow on immediately behind the gods from the 'Flight Deck' . But now someone seems to have interposed some people referred to as 'Worldwide'.

Well...... (fists on hips) I don't know why people from other regions should take precedence over us, from ' Army, Navy and Airforces of the World'.

Or from CC, Freight Dogs or TPs, come to that.

Wassup, o venerable mods?

I get the impression that TPTB would rather Mil Aircrew was merged with JB.

You never got the memo?

'twas at the top of the page, something to do with how well they were doing so they were going into a new higher listing, fact is their post count is still squat compared to here.

Could it be that the master forum you come under, has less people viewing per hour than the Worldwide forums ?

Who was this P Prune chap again? You know, the one the entire forum is named after.....

(To be honest I didn't notice the change. My browser bookmarks brings me directly to this sub-forum, I rarely look at the other forums on Pprune.)

Calm down chaps. Just a spring clean and general tidy up.

Why attempt to fix that which isn't broken?

The adjustments (for better or worse) were made quite some time ago now. If you're starting a new thread today to complain cos you haven't seen it before, no surprise Mil Aircrew has been demoted. Or, as they say in Moody's, lost the triple A

I expect JB and Mil Aircrew will be in the playoffs to see who gets promoted at the end of the season ;)

The position of the Military Aircrew forum on the main page menu is derived from a software algorithm that uses the following variables;

1. Inappropriate use of "there, their, and they're".
2. Juxtaposition between rambling anecdotes and a salient point.
3. Calculation of total "there I was with nothing on the clock..." introductions.
4. Calculation of total "the trouble with the youth of today..." introductions.
5. Inappropriate use of the apostrophe of possesion/pluralisation.
6. Calculation of total "why did they cancel the Harrier..." tomes.
7. Any reference to the Fleet Air Arm and Aircraft Carriers.
8. Any reference to an individual's ability to wear a hat - or not.

Each instance of the above drops the forum position by one line.

Good post, and very credible- but none of the above, TI. It is out of kindness: you see, the scrolling distance between Mil and JB in the Forum Jump menu has been significantly reduced. Given the age of most posters here, and the correllation with arthritis, it was felt the best thing to ease those stiff little fingers. Thank you Mods.

Two's in - there's also a clever algorithm that is based on the nocturnal micturation frequency of the forum's posters :E

I must skew the figures slightly but obviously not enough. I work a lot of night shifts and, as a nurse, a cast iron bladder comes as standard.;)

Beags is very distressed by all this change......well....actually....any change....but hopefully he will be able to cope despite it running afoul of the Wellington Theorem.:uhoh:

Its a bit more complicated, involving intake between noon and bed, the sum of the several nocturnal dribbles in metric, the number of visits, the number of visits whereby bedfellow is disturbed and the phase of the moon [tides, you see].

And you thought DRE was Defence of the Realm Act Exemptions?

One would say the site is now simply modelling itself on the population demographics of the UK. It is now in it's current format, top heavy with foreigners.

One would have naturally assumed in that scenario that JB would have been elevated closer to Mil, not the other way round.

It may have fewer people viewing per hour but that does not make it less important

And you thought DRE was Defence of the Realm Act Exemptions?

I've had more DREs than all the other posters on MilPprune put together. They were at best a waste of time, at worst a pain in the rectum. The biopsies got it right though - nine of ten each had ~ 70% cancer cells. My prostate now resides in a jar at Guy's ;)
