Just out of Ballarat / Lethbridge area.
TWO men walked away uninjured when a light plane crashed into Cape Clear Primary School playground about 1.30pm today.
No children were in the playground when the twin engine Cessna crash landed, clipping a powerline on the way down. Cape Clear Primary principal Christian Brown said the men were very lucky.
"They hit the power line and they got out alive,” he said.
"The plane didn't break up, so they were very, very fortunate."

XXX am I noticing a trend with you ambulance chasing lately?
It seems everytime there is bad news, it comes from you!
I think the story should be twin seat LSA, not twin engine Cessna!

Oh well, if that doesn't excite you much, one of the Brietling aircraft at Avalon has just landed in a field!
What an action packed day for Avalon and it's only Wednesday.

An aeroplane crash, accident or incident never EVER excites me.
I think you should consider professional help if such things are exciting for you. Most companies have employee assistance programs for such situations.

Says here a "three engine Cessna".
"Two men have escaped serious injury after crashing a light plane into a schoolyard near Ballarat.
The three engine Cessna ploughed into the Cape Clear Primary School yard, about 38 kilometres south-west of Ballarat, about 1.30pm on Wednesday.
It is believed the men were forced to make an emergency landing, having been seen circling above the area before the crash.
The plane hit a powerline on the way down.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said paramedics were treating the men at the scene but added they did not appear seriously injured.
Mr Mullen said the accident happened away from the school buildings and no children were injured.
Cape Clear Primary principal Christian Brown said the men were very lucky.
"They hit the power line and they got out alive,” he said.
"The plane didn't break up, so they were very, very fortunate."
Mr Brown estimated both men were aged in their 60s and said one was from Western Australia.
"There were two pilots and they came over to the school after the crash and we gave them a bit of TLC," he said.

Figure of speach, my apologies. Aircraft crashes are not exciting. Should read, "if that doesn't interest you..."
That being said, a part of me believes that is why a certain percentage of the general public attend airshows such as Avalon.
If we can report on, discuss and subsequently learn from the unfortunate adventures of others, that can only be a good thing for the rest of us.

Maybe it's an agricultural primary school
Looks more like a drilled farmers field to me.
Anyway, glad they are both OK.

That would be one of the BREITLING aircraft. Just a quick question - how do you pronounce Breitling - e.g. like brightling or braitling? Or does it just depend on what school you went to? I always understood it was pronounced as braitling, but weather muppet on Ch9 this morning was pronouncing it brightling.

I have always pronounced it 'W-A-N-K-W-A-T-C-H' myself.
