No sure but from 1000ft AGL we can see the contents of an Argos shopping bag using a Canon 1DX with a 300mm lens and a 1.4 extender...

Almost an impossible task unless you are the photographer. Long lens, very high, wide, much lower, distortion would help but very difficult to tell the difference between a 28mm at 600ft and a 30mm at 700ft.

Maybe you could explain what you're after instead of lobbing in with your first post and a heap of links, expecting others to go through them all on your behalf?

The Beverly Park photo is Canon EOS Rebel XT, ISO 400, 1/400s F/16 50mm (so effective 75mm or so), shot 28 March 2010.

Hmmmm....

Nothing to do with this then is it? Maybe as John asks, you should state your purpose before having everyone here do your dirty work for you.

Highlights added by me.

Los Angeles Helicopter Noise Relief Act (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/s208/text)

S 208 IS

113th CONGRESS

1st Session

S. 208

To require the Federal Aviation Administration to prescribe regulations to reduce helicopter noise pollution in residential areas in Los Angeles County, California.

IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

February 4, 2013

Mrs. FEINSTEIN (for herself and Mrs. BOXER) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation

A BILL

To require the Federal Aviation Administration to prescribe regulations to reduce helicopter noise pollution in residential areas in Los Angeles County, California.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ‘Los Angeles Residential Helicopter Noise Relief Act of 2013’.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
Congress finds the following:

(1) Residents throughout Los Angeles County suffer intrusive and disruptive low-flying helicopter traffic above their neighborhoods. The unique terrain of canyons and valleys that surround residential neighborhoods in Los Angeles County often concentrate high decibel level noise from the low-flying helicopters in and around Los Angeles County residences. The concentrated noise interrupts daily life for many Los Angeles County residents by drowning out conversations and disrupting sleep cycles.

(2) Los Angeles County is home to a uniquely large concentration of scenic, historic, entertainment, and transportation venues, including sight-seeing, movie studios, movie star homes, outdoor entertainment facilities, Griffith Park, the Hollywood Sign, freeways, and many others, that generate extensive helicopter activity.

(3) Los Angeles County is home to the world’s leading civil helicopter manufacturer that conducts extensive helicopter operational testing across the region.

(4) Despite multiple efforts from several community and homeowner organizations in Los Angeles County to address these disturbances, helicopter traffic in Los Angeles County is not currently regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration or any other agency.

(5) At the request of Members of Congress, the Federal Aviation Administration formed an internal working group in July 2012 to solicit input from local communities and stakeholders on helicopter noise and safety issues in Los Angeles County.

(6) As part of that process, several public meetings were held in the fall and summer of 2012 that have allowed the Federal Aviation Administration and stakeholders to hear and better understand the concerns and complaints of affected residents.

(7) The Federal Aviation Administration is scheduled to release a report in May 2013 evaluating a full set of voluntary and regulatory options to reduce helicopter noise and address safety issues in Los Angeles County.

(8) The report is expected to explore how helicopters can be regulated in Los Angeles County in a manner that provides relief to residents from helicopter noise while also meeting the needs of relevant stakeholders, including first responders.

SEC. 3. REGULATIONS TO REDUCE HELICOPTER NOISE POLLUTION IN CERTAIN RESIDENTIAL AREAS.
(a) Rulemaking- Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration shall prescribe regulations for helicopter operations in Los Angeles County, California, that include requirements relating to the flight paths and altitudes associated with such operations to reduce helicopter noise pollution in residential areas, increase safety, and minimize scheduled commercial aircraft delays.

(b) Exemptions- In prescribing regulations under subsection (a), the Administrator shall exempt helicopter operations related to emergency, law enforcement, or military activities from the requirements described in that subsection.

(c) Consultations- In prescribing regulations under subsection (a), the Administrator shall make reasonable efforts to consult with local communities and local helicopter operators in order to develop regulations that meet the needs of local communities, helicopter operators, and the Federal Aviation Administration.

I opened a thread asking about what kind of lens and what kind of heights are generally used for real estate aerial photography and it was closed.

Two people in it accused me of wanting them to do "the dirty work" for me and implied that I was up to no good.

The photos I have posted were so numerous because I wanted others to get a general idea. Opening 10 links doesn't require 50 years of laborious work, it requires 10 seconds.

Those kind of photos were chosen because of a specific look, quality, lighting... in them.

There are entire photographic agencies, like Splash, X17Online, Pacific Coast News, which do this kind of thing a million times a day. They shoot a house the moment a celebrity buys it. It is not forbidden by law. Anyone wanting to break it surely wouldn't open such a visible thread to ask about it. Or no? There are only legal requirements about height of the aircraft above the ground. There are also several videos online, seen many times by people all over the world, documenting luxury real estate. There are a million photographers just in the Los Angeles area doing this kind of work for a fee and they all have a lot of work.

Then I'm sure that with such a delightful personality as yours, you can approach them to tell you what you need to know.

And charge you accordingly :ok:

Most of those shots are from the CIA's spy satellites. Note that there are no people visible who are wearing tinfoil hats - it proves how effective they are, making the wearer invisible to satellites.

And they use Photoshop to remove the chemtrails that sometimes appear across the shot.

Persons in the photos are not looking at the camera, this is a sign that the aircraft is high and can't be heard or if it can, it isn't an issue.

It is impossible to say unless you have the raw file and can check the properties...

One cannot say whether the pics have been cropped at a later stage, so it is a pointless effort.

Generally, when shooting real estate, you will have to obey the local laws regarding min height agl and noise abatement issues. Depending on that, one would generally use a 35mm camera with a decent zoom lense (wide to middle range) so as to not hassle with changing lenses while in flight, and because your quality is not of that great an importance... shoot the property with a bit of space around it, so you can crop it to format required later...

Hi,
You can download IrfanView for free and check on the EXIF information, which is still contained in some fotos.
I do make my own Photos normaly with a Tamron 18-270 mm Zoomlens, which leads with a crop factor to something like 25 to 380 mm actually.
With RAW selected you can make photos from parts of a house as well as the house with garden from 1.500 to 2.000 feet easily.
And you need an offset, to catch the right angle.
Later I use some software to eleminate any disturbances from haze.
One turn around a house is all you need and takes only about 2 min - the most time is spent later in front of the computer.
