Tnxs jabba dabba doo for the link:ok:
Interesting & very moving.

Sadly though the last page of that story as far as the youth of today is concerned is all but closed, closed & rarely to be opened again as society has moved on & not for the better at times either.
The words "Lest we forget" unfortunately are only spoken amongst those that it ought to have the most effect on but once a year, if at all.

These men & women along with all the personal involved in all wars have left a profound effect on now an ever decreasing few...."Lest we forget"

Thanks for posting that Jaba.

I can thoroughly recommend Jonna Doolittle Hoppes' book: Calculated Risk: The Extraordinary Life of Jimmy Doolittle

Very different writing style but a great story.

This is the guy who invented Instrument light....and the instruments!!!

I wonder if any of the under 30 pilots out there learn about this.

We all owe a lot more gratitude to this one man than most others.

Amazing man, life and story.

And then he went on to lead the USAAC in the fight against Germany. A truly great man. A test pilot who became a useful combat pilot and leader! Unusual!:E
