Lt-Cdr Peter ("Toby") Davis - Obituary

Never met this gent, and not sure if his obit should be here, or in "Where Are They Now?". He died in December, but I've failed to find any reference to him on PPRuNe.

As the most remarkable part of his incredibly diverse career seems to have been in the FAA, and as you are currently discussing ditchings - inter alia - on another thread (http://www.pprune.org/military-aircrew/507952-using-ejector-seats-underwater.html#post7693690), I'm posting it here:

What a life indeed, and many thanks to Chris Scott for drawing attention to Toby Davis's career, above, below, and on the waves. I look back and recall him with pleasure as a rather quiet and reserved but invariably courteous and thoughtful officer, and I'm only sorry that I never learned earlier more than a modicum about his clearly distinguished flying career.

It's a shame that a man of this stature attracts such a small response on this Forum. I wonder if there would be more if he had served in the RAF rather than RN/FAA. Bit radical perhaps......................
