This made me laugh ... but very sad really :(

It would seem that the MOD is more geared up to "inviting" complaints about UK Mil Low Flying than explaining to the lily livered NIMBY population the operational importance of military low flying

UK Government Mil Low Flying (https://www.gov.uk/low-flying-in-your-area)

No obvious reference to (or ability to) view the rather good Joint Service "Essential Facts" PDF.

Mil Low Flying : The Essential Facts (http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafboulmer/rafcms/mediafiles/A2A770B4_5056_A318_A8FC69EB1F7B905A.pdf)

Or the equally good (yet out of date) Stats PDF published by the MOD.

UK Mil Low Flying Statistics 2010 - 2011 (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/27454/POMLFAppendix20102011.pdf)

But the real killer is the link from the UK Gov Web Page under Noise, Neighbours, Pets and Pests :ugh:

Thats just under getting a "Horse Passport" and above "Reporting a Dead Animal"

Just be careful if a Rentokil van appears at the Station Gates as they maybe looking to spray more than just the mess and accommodation block :ooh:

You can just feel the love ...

Can you not see that the top 5 have been prioritised, and the rest are alphabetic......?

Yes ... it was the comical juxtaposition that made me smile !

I don`t think he has most people reading these forums will already understand the problems involved with low flying. We need more of it by the way.:E

Surely the section about Horse Passports should be under Findus :E

In the days of the old low level route I took Mrs TTN for a picnic in a pretty spot in the Yorkshire dales. She became suspicious as a succession of Vulcans, JPs, Buccaneers etc passed overhead at regular intervals and my attention was constantly diverted skyward. I never confessed I had marked the spot from my topo with the LL route marked on it.

Happy days!

When I read the thread title I thought it might be about some of the inconsiderate bar stewards on some MQs who think it's ok to party in the garden all night.

They might be a minority but they usually make up for it by their extreme inconsideration.

Judge grounds bid to stop model flying club | News & Crier Latest News in St Neots, Huntingdon & St Ives | Events & Sports In Huntingdon (http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Huntingdon-St-Ives-St-Neots/Judge-grounds-bid-to-stop-model-flying-club-07022013.htm)

Similar vain to the above posts. How daft is this.

Noise from Model aircraft club may hinder her breeding alpacas or even hazard her weekend guests that arrive by helicopter.

So model aircraft make more noise than helicopters.

I just could not believe this to be true and to know it got all the way to the high court.

Many years ago I ran the Model Flying Club at a large Oxon air base. A neighbour on the South side used to complain about her swimming pool guests being disturbed by the noise and we had to arrange our flying sessions to suit. Given the arrival of the constant noise, variable speed machines from Lyneham, I wonder if she ('twas a she who complained most) is happier now? Moi ... now in Norfolk and get to hear and see (VERY occasionally) Tonkas, or similar (they all look alike nowadays!!;)) doing round and round things just above us. :ok:

A lady with stables near Coningsby complained, so the circuit pattern was moved. She threw a blue fit when she didn't get free double-glazing when the Tornados moved in.
Can't have it both ways, love.

Fox3, may be the same lady if she was near Tattershall Thorpe. She complained to me one day. I eventually elicited exactly where she lived and said "Oh yes, your husband straightened out my gates for me."

She went deep and silent as her other half was claiming disability allowance etc etc :}

OTOH your lady may have been at Chapel Hill.

F3, PN ... or maybe the Station Commanders wife should have known better than to complain about aircraft noise under a pseudonym :E
