I am soon to retire from ATC and for the first time in ages I have to look at airfares without doing an automatic calculation for staff discount.

As a treat I would like to take me and Mrs EW to the US in business class.

Does anyone have a good site for discounted fares?. I have been through the usual suspects (Expedia Opodo etc). Are there any less known good value sites that you know of and would share?

Thanks

Not sure about eligibility and whatnot, never used it but I've heard good things about it.

Try this: Amadeus.net (http://www.amadeus.net) - use the best fare button and then uncheck the options that don't suit you.

With all due respect "Wiseguy" if you feel the need for business class across the Atlantic then you can afford to not have the rest of us subsidise your staff discount.

Anyway, one good site is CHEAP FLIGHTS | Find Airline Tickets & Discount Airfares | Fly.com (http://www.fly.com) , use it to find out which retailer offers the best fare then goggle for "UK Cashback" then register with a cashback site to establish which travel site and/or airline offers the best cashback remembering to clear one's cookies before purchasing ticket(s) via cashback site.

P.S. Booked 5 nights in hotels only earlier today, got 10.1% cashback (effectively a discount) plus Nectar points on the lot :)

With respect Phileas...I wasn't looking for you to subsidise squat after retirement. I was looking for regular sites offering regular good value fares. RTFQ :=

Thanks for your input.:)

Mixmaster...yes they do. I just thought that travelling without the "two red stripes" across the ticket and turning left would be nice for once.:ok:

Even the regular airlines have some deals - always try some slightly different routings - last year we found using two close, but seperate, airports on the East Coast was 50-67% of the businss class fare of an out- and-back from the same airport on TWO airlines

God knows why
