What a contrast between the his generation of professional, knowledgeable, analytical, aviation/aerospace correspondents and todays "amateurs" on TV and Radio?

I guess Reg's generation relied on an experience of service life and the measure of authority, confidence and insight that that allowed. Today, well.. James Corden, Clare Balding anyone?
