As always, for Windows users click on the link to open a higher resolution full picture, and then right click to select “Set as Background”. Mac users should select the background via System Preferences.

I hope this time it works glitch-free.........:E. I am sure you will let me know....:}

Right I am now using Google Drive for hosting, don't know why the preview again isn't working......

Let me know how you get on, please.

Clicking just takes me to a Dropbox link, both on a PC and a Mac. :confused:

Curious?

Don't know what is going on there? I have tried it on different machines and friends have tried it and it works for us.....the beauty of computers, eh?

I will look into hosting it elsewhere.

Not really. I get to the Google Drive page with a zoomable image, but Right/Ctrl click on my Mac gives this:

rather than this:

Haven't got access to a PC at the moment to see if it works there.

MightyGem,

You are on a Mac as you say yourself and Mac's don't have the right click menu set as background option....John Eacott's instructions up top mention that you need to download the picture first and then set it via system preferences...

To download just press command+s (or go on the down arrow you find below the word File) this will ask you where to download it.
The go to the top left of your monitor and click on the Apple followed by System Preferences, now in the Personal Column click on Desktop & Screensaver now toggle the Desktop / Screensaver to Desktop choose folder choose picture Done.

Am I making sense?

Oh yes they do. See the second picture and popup menu above. 4th line from bottom, "Use Image as Desktop Picture".

As you can see, I also get the set as desktop image on the thumbnail, just not on the image on the Googledrive.

MG, have you;

Right clicked on 'Click for download from google drive'
Selected - 'Download linked file'
Gone to 'downloads' file on you Mac
Double clicked on edit.html file
if asked - Opened file (file opens at 100%)
Right clicked and selected - 'Use image as desktop picture?

Checked on both an iMac and MacBook :8

Failing that, pm me and I'll mail it to you :ok:

BS,

Thanks for taking over the calendar, but Google isn't too friendly for picture hosting, especially to create a thumbnail link :=

It is nice to see someone else's efforts after all these years :ok:

Yes that works fine, it was just about the right click option which doesn't exist for the Google drive pictures.

Also the "Set as Background" option is greyed out on the Windows XP PC at work. :E
