I know this questions has been asked before but I cannot find the thread - Could anyone point me in the direction of any floated AS350's operated in the UK? Preferably the south, and available for temporary hire (with safety pilot if req'd). Thanks

I suppose you mean emergency pop-out floats?

Indeed that is what I mean, thanks for clarifying.

Elite Helicopters at Goodwood used to have at least one with floats, don't know if they still do, likewise London Helicopters at Redhill.

PDG probably have several, but their main base is Scotland, so does not fit 'south of UK'!

Likely to be a few others around too, but not sure who else operates them these days.

Aucky: If you're really struggling to find a ship PM me and I'll forward Mark de Ferranti's contact details.

He occassionally charters out his Ecureuil, G-SMDJ, (below) which is fitted with pop-outs for his cross-Channel flights.

Sav - out of interest, whose AOC does he charter DJ out on? I've not heard of that machine on the UK charter market before?

I think you've got it wrong about SMDJ. I used to fly it for MZF for several years before the current pilot. I don't think he's ever 'chartered' it out.

JJ: Perhaps you are right, I understood otherwise.

Either way, I've passed the details on to Aucky and he will soon enough discover the facts.

Might like to enquire of Atlas Helicopters, based Lee-on-Solent.

Thanks - My understanding is that Atlas don't have one with floats, but they do have a floated long ranger...

G-OLFA is still awaiting the return of her engine from Turbomecca at the moment, but LHC have an aircraft (B3, emergency floats), available depending on mission requirement and duration.
