Hello there.

I have a CASA ME/IR which is expired. I am planning on converting to EASA and I know if you have an IR you are exempt from the full 50 hour course and only need to do 15 hours. Is this the same for an expired one? i.e needing a renewal.

Cheers.

Needs to be a current rating. Only the qualification(s) you hold can be credited. Once your CIR lapses, you no longer hold a CIR.

Ah that's not great then, was looking into converting my entire license. Currently overseas between those 2 continents so it'll be a trip to Oz to just do that, then quickly get class 1 medical in the UK, then I think the course for the ATPL's I am looking at says 6 months to do them, so not a lot of wiggle room for the flying part of the conversion after to tie in with my CASA license currency and more money, dang.
