Please answer if you have already dealt with them! :)

The best in the industry is Mr. Khan, give him your money! You better pay the whole sum upfront.

And if you pay him extra he will give you a job as well! If you pay extra: a job as a training captain! :p

Sorry couldn't resist...

But seriously: if you are so desperate to go for a TR go to one of the big boys like CAE. Stay away from some fishy broker unless you want to get burned....

LOL

If you pay more than extra he will give you as well a new brand turboprop to come back home and to park outside home..so no need to buy a car!;)

Yes I second that. If you're going to do your TR do it with a reputable bunch like CAE Oxford.

I have no problem against a self sponsored TR + line training but I have not heard good things about Skies.

Spoke with one of their prospective students a while back who said he had been waiting a long time for his training to begin and he did not have anything good to say about the chaps who run the firm.

However, he could have been talking ****e for all I know.

Can I asked all you guys your opinion please? If you had the money which type rating would you do?B777,B737NG,A320, or B747-400.The reason I am asking is most airlines want you to have time on type at least 500 hours,so is it worth doing the type rating as no guarantee on a job.:ugh:????

I appreciate every ones opinion and comments.

Why do we always get people on here asking the same questions that have already been answered plenty of times?

No, it's not worth it until you're offered a contract. If you are not, it is going to be a waste of money, especially for a 747 TR.

I have been looking to get into schools, when I look at the course costs for typerating its so high, and I am wondering can any explain logistically why is the fee so high !

Is it because the simulators are very expensive, the instructors require a lot of pay or is it supply/demand issue.

Guys,

Please, please, please if you can DO NOT PAY FOR YOUR OWN TYPE RATING. If and I stress IF, the only way you can get a job is to pay for the rating, REFUSE TO PAY FOR LINE TRAINING!!!

PAYF has decimated the terms and conditions within the industry and certainly in the case of Easy, the CAA have told them they will need DEC's very soon because the calibre of the PAYF F/O's is simply not up to scratch.

So two things have happened under this scheme:

1) Working T's and C's (roster protection, days off, cost of training, "training", etc etc) have been eroded to the point of bean counting bottom lines. Airlines employing such schemes also, in essence, lose the ability to "chop" pilots because ANYBODY can pass line training if enough money is thrown at it.

2) Potential aircraft commanders are not being identified because PAYF encourages those who "...just want to fly an airliner..." to remain in the RHS and bumble along the upper bottom third of ability.

What am I basing these facts on? In point 1), comments made by management from my first commercial outfit when PAYF was just starting to emerge in the mainstream. Point 2) is based on comments made to me by a FOI.

For the sake of industry standards: PLEASE REFRAIN FROM PAYING FOR TYPE RATINGS!

You are so totally right.
Ive seen TR+Line training packages of around 75-90K. JESUS.

This is totally sick. Even if that would be the last oppertunity to get a job, ( cannot even call it a job) I wouldnt do it. Because most of the situations, no salary , and after making your hours, you get kicked out, and some other IDIOT is lined up to take your seat. And in general, during your hours after line training, you are not even allowed to do TO and Landing. Just shut up and listen to the cpt. Push this and that button. Talk to ATC. Read Checklist. And thats it. So no obtaining of flying skills on that particular AC. So totally useless. Rediculous.

More people should take a look on this thread. And think about what they are actually are doing. Helping down the T&C's.

Paying for TR (no line training > Should be paid by airline ) is only acceptable if after training you will get a job for atleast 3 years and a salary where you can life from properly, and taking into account that you have a lot of responsebilities.

P2F should be banned. But sadly I think thats an Utopia :( .

Guys take care because owner of skies Mazin. Run away from UAE to don't refund to pilots , i made a criminal case against him and prosecution put him in a jail till he gave me cheques, he paid one cheque then he closed skies Dubai to don't pay and run away from UAE . He forgot that there is Interpol . ;)
There is no line training at all . I know a lot of pilots still didn't get back their money from him .
Don't be next victim.
