Hi all.
Got a bit of a different question.
I've got an ATPL and a rating with about 2000 hours on a 20K kg turboprop (flying currently on it) and also a valid AML B1.1 with NO type on that, European based.

I'd like to work for a GA/Corporate/private or even classic planes, in short for a company that maintains and flies their aircraft, where I could work to do both flying and maintenance. Preferably long term, stable company.

Do you think such a company exists and would it work? Would I be desirable for such a company or not at all? I'm not so much thinking working for the Antarctic Survey (yet), or flying Cessna's in Africa. I'm not going to the States either :)

Thanks.

ps, posting this in 2 forums.

Hi,

I think it is not possible in Europe, not nowadays. Companies do not want people doing 2 jobs, even if they save one salary. For example, in Spain it used to be a mechanic flying as hoist operator in SAR helicopters but it is disappearing. Certifying a daily check after a stressful flight? No thanks.

You are asking about a job that is related to flying in remote areas where the pilot depends on himself/herself. You answered your question, British Antarctic Survey or bush flying in Africa, maybe South America.

Try these:

www.airserv.org/ (http://www.pprune.org/www.airserv.org/) (USA, N- aircrafts)
www.zimex.ch (http://www.pprune.org/www.zimex.ch) (Switzerland)

I hope you find it. Regards.
