God forbid, but out of interest.
What happens if you use up all of your sittings or retakes for a particular exam.
Does the CAA keep you on record forever in a black folder. And thats it your dream is over you will never be allowed to be an airline pilot.
or do you just have to start again from scratch.

I think you would just have to resit the whole thing again, but there comes a point when the CAA tell you to do some mandatory retraining. I don't think the CAA have a black book (well I hope not............)
Concensus from the Prof. Flight Training show at Heathrow was that you'd have to resit -ALL- your exams again.
Bit of a pain if you've aced 13 of them and failed the 14th four times! :(
If someone is still not getting it after three attempts (unless there's something really screwy with the exam paper) I'd be questioning the groundschool - after all, before you do the exam they should be able to tell if you have a good chance of actually passing it.

I dont think it would be a problem with the groundschool if you failed 3 times, the groundschools are approved. I think if that were the case, the student should be questioning themselves.
