Hi all ...

If you are looking for inspiration during your next post ... or you are not quite sure on an aeronautical technicality ... all is solved if you have this chap sitting next to your screen.

Apparently this Limited Edition RAF BEagle is one of only 800 produced and your's for just £29.99 :ok:

No BEagles were harmed in the making of this figurine nor is there any connection with a certain PPRuNe member :E

There's a younger version of him as an Officer Cadet as well

Now where did he steal that bag from?.....

Quite right - boots are far too shiny and the figurine is indeed wearing a tw@t hat rather than a proper officer's SD cap.

A bit big at 15cm, but could complement a must-have pink mosque alarm clock.....;)

Amazing how well the trusty Mosque alarm clock has lasted. So much entertainment from them over the years since initial purchase.

As soon as I started reading this thread I recalled the virtual secondary duty of OiC Beagle Pack :uhoh: - how could I forget! Truth is I got away lightly with a short tenure compared to some of my predecessors as the file I was given was quite thick and, pardon the pun, somewhat dog-eared! Only 13 posts before it was mentioned by association - the folkore remains well and truly alive!

It sounds a bit like the 'NEAF Flying Instructions' file which existed on 35 Sqn just before my time in the early 1970s. Their boss, known as 'BFP' (which did not stand for Bomb Fix Point....) kept asking to see the file, but it was always signed out to someone who was away on leave or detachment.

It took a while before BFP realised what the 'NFI' file actually was - and he was less than impressed, I gather...:\

The Per Ardua beagle pack had a strong following at Cranners in Flt Cdt days. As one chum once put it "You can either follow the little buggers on foot, watch them from the top of a hill as they scamper about - or simply sit in a pub and think about them!". This is where you can buy the figurines...

Robert Harrop Doggie People - Military (http://www.collectorsfigurines.com/Military_Figurines.htm)

Although I think that given the vintage of some of the posters on this forum that this might be more suitable...

And for all those Tornado folks amongst us who need a bit of Character building..

Character Building H.M. Armed Forces RAF Tornado Fast Jet Set (http://www.character-online.com/products/Character-Building/HM-Armed-Forces/RAF-Tornado-Fast-Jet-Set/)

http://www.character-online.com/thumbnailgenerator.ashx?id=685749&width=231&height=230&method=LimitCentred&background=FFFFFFFF&corners=0&cornerradius=0&type=Jpeg&quality=80&h=C16A2E0413248FC4582AA3A93BEDBA5&units=Pixel

And it appears they have even modelled the Tornado crew anatomically correct, and I quote

WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - Not suitable for children under 36 months. Choking hazard (small parts and small balls).

It would appear that the RN and their F35B have "small parts" but no balls at all!

That was Goebbels, surely?

According to the song, it was surely Goering?

Whereas - "And poor old Goebbels, has no balls, at all!"

Character Building H.M. Armed Forces RAF Tornado Fast Jet Set (http://www.character-online.com/products/Character-Building/HM-Armed-Forces/RAF-Tornado-Fast-Jet-Set/)

Figure 16 in the manual shows a really simple wing sweep solution that was clearly too simple for the Panavia boffins.

Only one w/s actuator would have meant savings in weight, cost, time spent rigging and, possibly, a broken window:\.

Happy New Year to all

Under the same instructions Riskman has posted two posts up they have the model of the WSO / Nav carrying the bags..... It's more accurate than I first thought. :)

The received version [HQ 1 Group Bawtry Filthy Song Sheet as issued by AVM Mike Knight c. 1982] goes:

Hitler has only got one ball*,

Rommel has two, but very small,

Himmler has something similar,

But poor old Goebells has no balls at all!

Other versions substitute "The other is in the Albert Hall" for line 2, ex-Queen's Medical Centre Nottingham.

* apparently true ....... monorchism, or perhaps an untested descendicle
