I was at Miami International yesterday, and saw a Qatar A330 on the north ramp. I believe it's the second time I've seen it there. Does anybody know why it's there?

Is that the same as the "biz jet" fleet? Seems to be a nice job if you're flying an A330 bizjet:cool:

Meh. The Dubai Royal Flight has 3 747-400s (One freighter- for the Horses you know) and the Abu Dhabi has a 747 and a 777 (LR??).

Very nice job indeed :)
The bigger toy ... the more work ... perhaps depends where your office is ... Happy new year from Cocoa beach :ok:

I think Check Airman is asking if the Royal flight is the same as Qatar Executive and it is separate.

The Amiri flight and cabin crews are on call 24/7. Spouse of one of the crew here by herself at the New Years party and her husband just phoned and told her he did not know when he would be home. Flight time limitations for the crews quite a bit more "flexible" as it is considered a private flight.

Tough job with some benefits. Believe most would prefer a schedule.

Correct...no one is forced to do anything they don't want...everyone signs up to a deal they accept. You like a bit more money...you trade in a bit of your time...simple.

The 24/7 is just fine by me but then it all depends on the person.

I'm ok with the 24/7 also. I like the ad-hoc nature of the job; anywhere, anytime. It makes things interesting. Sure, occasionally we have very long days and some gruelling trips but in general, I feel our role is enjoyable. However, it is certainly not for everyone. Horses for courses as always.
