I am an airline mechanic in USA with 25 years heavy jet experience. 747, 767, 757, 727, DC8, MD11, A300. Would I be able to use this experience to obtain B1& B2 ratings? What would be my best route to take to obtain these EU ratings? Thanks

There is no crossing over from A&P to EASA part 66!
Your work experience may be recognised if presented properly in a work experience logbook (http://www.easa-66.eu/BBS/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2)!
You must take all theory exams again, which are for the B1.1 licence Maths, Physics, Electrics, Electronics, Digital, Hardware, Maintenance practices, Aerodynamics, Human Factors, Legislation, Airframe, Turbine Engines, & Propellers as a multiple choice exam. Each exam in the US will cost you around $100 for example in Orlando (http://www.caainternational.com/our-services/aviation-examinations/take-an-exam/part-66/florida)! You must also write essays 2ea for Maintenance practices and 1ea for Human Factors and 1ea for legislation!
The EASA part 66 licence means studying for it!
