Sadly, the plane broke into many pieces upon crashing.
No survivors were located.

The Lear 25 was 42 years old.. the capt. according to news reports here this morning was 78! .. Doesn''t mean that either was a factor but I would think it maybe a unique combination.

I've flown in an older aircraft (early Socata Ralleye) with an octogenarian pilot, and survived just fine... :}
The early Lears do not have a great safety record though.

According to the press, and I know they mostly get it wrong, but He also had a Temp certificate with VFR restrictions on both the Lear and HS125, is there a VFR restriction for these aeroplanes?
