i work in non licensed aviation but looking to study the modules, do the tests in my own time whilst gaining experience. iv started revision but nothing official yet, do i jump straight into booking a test and sit it, or do i have to register with the CAA first? furthermore if so is there a charge just to register before you do any modules?

Just book the exams when you are ready, usually you can do this up to a week in advance, I believe.

Don't forget that some Part 147-approved schools offer exams, some with short, intense revision courses combined.

UK CAA is minimum of three weeks in advance.
CAA website has a page showing all the exam venues, dates and the latest date applications need to be in.
EG. Venue-Manchester, Exam date-7th December, Application Date-16th November.

Good luck. :ok:

Im also looking at doing the same thing, whilst most of the information can be found through the A and P books etc is there any good reads for those of us that will be self study, especially when it comes to the electrical side of things?
