I assume it was an RAF jet. Not low level, but whoever you were at 11am on Sunday, your presence was much appreciated by those of us gathered in Tynemouth village to remember our war dead.

We paused for the minute long silence. Just as it came to an end, a fast jet, at medium level flew across us.

My wife thought it was something the RAF had laid on. I guess it was just coincidence.

Just so you know, the timing was perfect and you caused some skyward gazes, the odd smile of pride from the congregation and a lot of positive comments after the service.

Thanks. Dan.

That would have been a pair of Hawks from 100 Sqn at Leeming. They did Darlington at 1055, Sunderland at 1102 heading north and turned over South Shields back to Leeming.
