I have 22(+) years with a Police Force. I do not wish to pursue this work longer than I have to. I have always been interested in aviation and want to fly. Yes there are many reasons/excuses/etc....as to why I have not been in a position to complete my flying.
.
I am 42 this year and not getting any younger. I have applied and missed out on the Jetstar and Virgin respective Pilot cadet scheme(s). Who knows why as they dont tell you - LOL!!!
.
Are there any organisation(s) that you are aware of that may assist in the application phase. If I start off with a great application and get a 'foot' in the door then whatever happens after will be my own doing.
.
Again is my age a hinderance??? I understand the reasoning behind choosing younger applicants. I dont like it but I accept it.
.
Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

gwel,

Are you pinning all your hopes to getting a Cadetship? Have you explored other avenues into the industry?

It is still a minority of Pilots who come from that sector, and it IS very competitive.
