Syria sends three tanks to Golan Heights (News from The Times)
Three Syrian tanks entered the demilitarized zone of the Golan Heights today in an apparently calculated move to provoke Israel. The tanks were involved in fighting in the nearby Syrian village of Beer Ajam against rebels trying to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.
There are reports that the rebels have destroyed two of the tanks.

In Idlib province, the Syrian army was reported to have abandoned its last base near the town of Saraqeb, after a fierce assault by rebels.
The Taftanaz base mainly houses military helicopters, near the main highway between the capital Damascus and the northern city of Aleppo, where rebels and the military have been battling for control for months.
