In 2009 a Pel-Air IA-1124 Westwind ditched at sea due to imminent fuel starvation after multiple missed approaches at Norfolk Island in the S. Pacific.

Crew elected to ditch at night during rough sea conditions and all survived. The following is a media report about the crash and its investigation with first person accounts from investigators, crew and pax. Very interesting to say the least.
