If you won the euromillions say 100million+ what would be the first things on you list?

Aircraft, airfields, equipment? I don't have a proper appreciation for decent aircraft so would end up buying a brand new Cessna and be boring :)
I would have a airfield tho with free landings and instrument approaches for all!

I also think i would run out of money after a few weeks but it still makes for a nice day dream.

Buy the airfield, fill it with warbirds H24 and then offer the nimbys less than market value for their houses and then use them for student housing for the flight school!

Could we buy EASA?

Doubt whether 100 mill would even buy a pension at EASA.

thing,

I think you've got it about right!

But not a twin turboprop right? Something like a Pilatus, accepting and enjoying the fact that to get to places thousands of miles away you are forced to land and re-fuel, thus meaning to get to see even more places!

That would seem sensible to me - stay on the right side of the drag curve with your 100 million plus and you could do all these things for the rest of your life without another worry or having to wake up to the damn alarm clock ever again... And take your pick of the Aston, F40 or SLS when you walk to the underground garage...

Sigh... :(

Was it you that won the Euro millions the other day and are you just trying to tease us?

Was it you that won the Euro millions the other day and are you just trying to tease us?

In that case I will happily offer professional advice regarding that question for a very reasonable fee in the lower seven-digits range :)

Nah, build new really flash student housing and put the warbirds to good use on the nimby's houses.

Buy everyone in my family a house up to 200k max each.
Open a bank account for a charity (which one to be confirmed) and put 1 million in it... All interest earn would provide a nice trickle of income for them.

I would also open a youth center for the troubled little ****es who rob people and steel things to give them something to do with their time

Then i would pay mortgage and debts buy myself a decent ppl play around and fly every damn day i can without having the weathers perfect but i have work problem!

A nice farm strip to leave from wouldnt be a bad idea either..........

But we can all dream

Would be my choice as well most probable, even if in reverse order. Before it's safe and soundly put away, anything can happen.

Mind, that bit, where to put it so it stays safe would be a MAJOR headache today. No banks and no other investments are really safe nowadays that the taxation whichhunt is on the way. You'd probably have to move a long way and invest very wisely indeed. Out of Europe and the US anyhow.

With a 100 million win

1. Resign quitely giving another reason.

2. Tell no-one.

3. Have money deposited in a none interest bearing account so no reason for the tax man to want his cut, a 100 mil should see me out.

4. Move away to somewhere quite if anyone asks you sold a successful business.

5. Buys toys gradually.

Would buy a small airport as a loss making business :E definately a P51, Spitfire, Corsair, Chipmunk.

I wouldn't let it change me. I'd still go to work, carry on with my old routine, and attempt to keep myself grounded.

OR

I'd go absolutely nuts, buying Portsmouth FC and becoming chairman. I'd travel everywhere in a Chinook, sprayed blue with a pompey logo on one side and "we hate scummers" on the other.

I'd smoke massive cigars, drink the finest shant and go out of my way to be "gauche" moneyed.

I think a reasonably modest house but with lots of land, including an airstrip. A hangar covered in solar panels charging up electric/hybrid aircraft.

Inside the hangar would be one of these (http://www.panthera-aircraft.com/), one of these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beechcraft_Model_17_Staggerwing) and one of these (http://www.binder-flugmotorenbau.de/eb29.html?&L=1). Hangar *two* might contain stuff like this (http://www.extraaircraft.com/aerobatic/ex330lt.php), this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piper_PA-18) and this (http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/planes/cricri/cricri-jet.jpg).

If I wanted to go a long way, I think it would be by First Class or chartered Gulfstream.

For me, warbirds are great to watch and listen to but the list of ace pilots I knew who are no longer with us after problems with old and complex airframes is getting longer every year. So no Spitfires, Messerschmitts or their ilk.

A cautionary tale about falling into a heap of money then bragging about it.

Many moons ago I had a business partner in a then small business, trading was tough but he had the once in a lifetime good fortune of inheriting $11 million from an aunty! He said to me “f**k you and f**k this sh*t business” and went off and bought a large house on a ski resort in Utah along with a few Porsche's, snow mobiles and a tricked out Seneca, then sent me a note with an infantile drawing of me with a big long unhappy face and him with a smiley face and “$11 mil” written above his character. Fast forward 3 years and a deadly combination of starting and running a flight school while day trading the market coked out of his brain, coupled with his wife running off with the plastic surgeon who done her numerous boob jobs ended it all in tears, bankruptcy, foreclosure, plane and Porsche repo and living in a caravan.

I still have the letter !!!

I still think the blue Pompey chinook is a better idea though.

Some interesting responses, i think a brand new cessna fully speced out hangered at local airfield will 100,000 pounds of avgas on tab wouldnt even dent 100million :) then you could go round all the local groups and pay for new engines new annual and a full overhaul with out noticing. A small fleet of 3-4 aircraft, one for friends to borrow one for friends to learn in and then your own. I recently abused my ppl and took 3 very glamorous girls for sunday roast at kirkbride and the trip went down a right treat! There would defo be more sunday lunches and pic nics out in a plane but maybe more exotic and where its sunny/warm. But a brand new private airfield slap bang in middle of england will all the instrument approaches and night lighting you can get, GA only free landings and page 3 girls trained up aircraft marshaling ops refueling and washing aircraft. Happy days..... Il keep buying my lottery tickets! :)

I would spend 80% of it on Aviation - buy a private airport, buy a Spitfire or two, a Citation, a fleet of other aircraft all for private use (and friends obviously :)) a Eurocopter, buy/found an aviation museum, start a flying school with well-paid salaried instructors and awarding free lessons up to ATPL on scholarship , etc etc.

I would then probably waste the rest. :hmm:

How about starting a company that employs people at high wages, makes more money, and does something useful?
Yes! You could even employ yourself, pay 10x the going rate and still make(?) money!
