Cat B flight

All northern departures out of lhr were stopped for a couple of minutes yesterday because of a "cat b flight in the zone." What's a Cat B flight????

In answer to your question Crisis pilot "Cat B" is

" Flights Operating for search and rescue or other humanitarian reasons"

Probably in this case it is the police chopper SP25B, Always tends to make departures go off track at some stage during the week.
