Heard the guys on scottish requesting a return to MAN, and as you say they were on oxygen with reported fumes in the flight deck. Also interested in hearing how things went.

I guess it went fine, otherwise it would have been headlining the newspapers!

AVherald picked it up, but not much reported on there;

A Thomas Cook Boeing 757-200, registration G-JMCD performing flight MT-2312 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Alicante,SP (Spain), was climbing through FL140 out of Manchester's runway 23L when the crew donned their oxygen masks, declared PAN reporting fumes in the cockpit and returned to Manchester for a safe landing on runway 23R about 17 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration G-JMCE reached Alicante with a delay of 7 hours.

Incident: Thomas Cook B752 near Manchester on Sep 29th 2012, fumes in cockpit (http://avherald.com/h?article=456bcef3&opt=0)

RYR has a boss who loves to be hated.... unfortunately you guys fly in his aeroplanes with the offensive slogans on the side (eg bye bye baby). Some of the shallow posters here are unable to grasp that you did not put that stuff on there.... and are probably as offened by the claptrap he comes out with. With the exception of some low hour cadets all the RYR pilots I have spoken to (ex BMI Baby / Globespan / Malev guys) have not gone there as a career choice and are actively looking to get out. Will be interesting to watch the wheels come off as MOL reaps what he has sown.

Who :mad: cares and why do you want people to know that you reported this first? All it shows is that you listen to live ATC far too much. But well done if that is what you want to hear. Well done indeed, you saw it online and then rushed on here to announce it, how proud you must be.
