I assume this has been asked but couldn't find a thread on a forum search.

I want to revalidate my SEP Class Rating through experience.

I will be in the US the 3 months prior to expiration. Can I fly my 12 hours (6 PIC & 12 t/o) in a N-registered plane (I only ask because it seems like the CAA are particular about certain things...maybe even the plane registration for revalidation)? In theory I can just hop in a SEP and fly solo 12 hours (got the FAA certificates).

I know I need 1 hour with an FI(A) or CRI(A) (JAA instructor), who can then sign my revalidation form. I have found several outfits in the US that can do this part.

Just clarifying if this is a normal and good way to go about it.

I also have a MEP class rating...although I guess that would be much cheaper to revalidate through the test.

No problem, experience is experience.
