I'm surprised no one has a thread going about KA 114..this has to be the most significant warbird event so far this century! Congratulations to Glynn, Wal and the team..who else is going on Saturday?

Unfortunately I'll just have to watch it on the news. It's going to be quite a day though! It looks like a good procession of warbirds and other interesting aircraft have been making their way north for the weekend (the Anson for example).

Great point Matty. I've been following this for a couple of years. Can't wait till saturday even if I can't be there. :{

For those on the book of the face 'like' the following page to see heaps of great vids/pics of the restoration: Classic Aircraft Photography
(Mods remove if this breaks the rules).

We will be there on Saturday - can hardly wait!

I visited the Avspecs hangar last November and the guys there could not have been more friendly to an aircraft enthusiast!

Plan to be there Saturday, might even fly in and avoid the traffic. Pity wx forecast not so flash.

The sound on the video doesn't do justice to two 12 piece symphonies!!!!!!

I just hope it ain't some airline pilot who has never flown a tail wheel aircraft before.

That is about the reality of the Bristol Blenheim that came to grief in the UK years ago.

Both the test pilots are ex or current airline pilots. They're also however probably some of the most experienced warbird pilots in this hemisphere with a lot of time on high performance WWII taildraggers so the Mosquito is in the most capable hands it could be!

By Christmas I think it will be residing overseas. From what I hear this weekend will be it's only public appearance in New Zealand before it heads off to its' overseas owner.
