Do you believe this catastrophe could have happened in a Boeing?

Has anyone actually tried putting the same events into a sim for other crews and if so, what was the outcome?

Yes it is entirely possible in a Boeing, both are aircraft and obey the laws of physics in exactly the same manner. So if your just asking about weather a boeing aircraft is immune from unreliable airspeed and pilot mishandling then the answer is no, it is not and would also stall if placed in the same conditions.

If you are asking if it is less likely in exactly the same scenario then yes I believe it is. If it were a Boeing the more experienced pilot would be very aware of the control inputs the less experienced guy was doing as the control yolks move together, he may have known this would cause a huge problem and have either taken over or directed nose down. In the Airbus unless you actually look at the other pilots side stick, which may not be possible due to the retractable table being extended, there is no way to know what inputs are being given.

It is less likely in a Boeing but still possible.

It is less likely in a Boeing
Not really as it already happened in a 727 years before the AF accident. A correct statement would thus be that it is just as likely in a Boeing.
