Good afternoon,

anybody could tell me how the PW4056 compares to the GE CF6 80C2B1F engine in comparison of performance (used in B744).

Many thanks

I believe that we have some information in the airport planning document which compares each engine type, what type of performance were you looking for?

If you want more detailed information, we have it for the B5F.

Thanks mutt,

well what I am looking for is which of the two engine is providing more thrust. Bascially I am looking at two different airframe/engine settings for a B744, where the one with the GE engines is always faster than the other one.

I don't say it is the engines, since there is a couple of other factors that also contribute, but I was wondering whether the PW4056 would be less efficient than the GE one.

Cheers

Hope that helps

Oops, forgot that the GE engine has the lower nacelle drag. Also the RB211-524H2 has the highest thrust at brake release(besides the 4062), but lapses the fastest. By 1000 ft the GE will be highest the Pratt second and the RR last. In cruise the GE maintains thrust better at altitude, but not by much. The GE is also the quietest. :D
