Can anyone shed any light on the three large jets flying over Newcastle City Centre today (28/08/12) in very very close formation, it was a great sight but just wondered what they were up to?

VC10 to retire on 28th August????

Yes and no.

The VC10s with passenger capability are about to be retired. The dedicated tanker aircraft will continue in service for the time being.

Def not 250, we get all low flying here, maybe they throttled back over town of Dunbar. Majestic was the thought that sprang to mind..
