At 1 o'clock I decided to go for a stroll through one of Britain's loveliest cities and have some lunch, and within 5 minutes of my being outdoors the heavens opened with a deluge of biblical proportions. I had lunch, the rain slackened off, and I decided to walk back. Again, a deluge, and within a minute of my being back indoors, the sun was shining! Where's that personal force field? I could have used it. I'd also like one to keep people a certain distance away from me, specially in queues. I sometimes consider not showering for a week or so just to keep people away but it probably wouldn't work, it would just attract the wrong sort of people! vulcanised 21st Aug 2012, 17:06 Just what I was going to say, loma ! (dontcha just hate it when you get beaten to the punch) Pugilistic Animus 21st Aug 2012, 17:32 I've been told [seriously] that I kinda do...note my location in my profile...:E I guess I would use a personal forcefield to keep the muppetry out of my life, definitely! lomapaseo 21st Aug 2012, 21:47 Just what I was going to say, loma ! All its scratches bumps and dents comes from monkeydonks lunatics drivers, cyclists or pedestrians hitting it and running away while it is simply parked. Thinking about it, I actually acted like a force-field towards an unknown parked car one time. This one had a nice woman sitting behind its driving wheel. A bunch of 4 or 5 heavy store carriages were going downhill pretty fast. Somehow I managed to stop the "train" just in time before it crashed in front of her SUV. All proud of myself with my good action I smiled towards her and realized that she was busy texting something...To the point that she saw absolutely nothing of the event! :hmm: Next time, I will just wait for an air bag deployment. |
