Does the wing tip on the kingair look bent (up)? It does to me.

In a curious coincidence, that Kingair 90 has the same colour scheme as the Kingair 200 I fly. Wonder if it's one of Beech's factory schemes?

I'd say the value of Lektro tugs has just gone up by quite a bit!

In my day, we always had someone up front, with brake pressure to operate the brakes before any tow whatsoever, just for this eventuality. Would it have made a difference in this case?

Anyone been 'canned' for this yet ?

@Doubleau anker....

Yes. If someone were sitting at the controls with power on the a/c this would likely have been avoided.

However, this is not practiced in the corporate jet world as it's not practical to have a pilot standing by in case the FBO needs to move the plane. The FBO will move planes about the ramp as needed to make space for others.

These aircraft are locked and usually need some sort of power, apu w/ hydraulics or at least electrical power, in order for the brakes to work. No FBO or a/c operator would permit a line person to operate the brakes anyway.

To add....I visit BNA Atlantic frequently and the ramp is unusually sloped. Very uncommon.

Was it Atlantic or Signature ?

Atlantic. One would think that, even if the tug lets go, that there would have been chocks on board the tug and a chance to get them in front of the tyres...

It will be interesting hereafter to see who ends up paying for the damage to the two aircraft.

I'm at Atlantic BNA several times a year and it was unfortunate. Word is that the tow bar snapped in 2.

what were they using a Heinz cereal bar?

Reminds me of JCB using their Gulfstream to demolish part of the oil store, surely they have diggers for that..

Looking at the photos the bar didn't snap in two. There's a weak link behind the towing eye which drops over the tow hitch. It's designed to fail in overload.

Therefore the tug to a/c link went into overload and the link failed. Why it did that is for others to decide.

In terms of the mating game is the Gulfstream saying 'anyone can make a mistake?"
