Can anyone tell me the difference, if any?

I just googled it and according to the reasonably authoritative looking page I found, the parallel of origin is midway between the two standard parallels used to make a Lambert's Conformal.

It goes on to say that the scale is correct on the standard parallels and is smallest on the parallel of origin.
