Could you please give me a simple answer to converting a JAA ATPL to a FAA ATP with a step by step process?
How long should the process take from word go?
I've been told that converting an JAA ATPL to a FAA ATP is a simple process. Is this the case?
Cheers

Could anyone help please?
Let me google that for you (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=convert+JAA+ATP+to+FAA+ATP)
Fisrt of all you need to verify you meet the FAA requirements, in FAA land there is no such thing as a "frozen" ATP.
14 CFR 61.159 - Aeronautical experience: Airplane category rating. (http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/granule/CFR-2012-title14-vol2/CFR-2012-title14-vol2-sec61-159/content-detail.html)
You do not need an instructor endorsement for an FAA ATP checkrdie as it is considered an experience certificate rather then a training-for-certificate.
If you fail you will need an instructor endorsement.
Under 61.153 d(3) you can take a FAA checkride with a ICAO CPL so you dont even need a foreign ATP.

assuming you have the experience above, pass the computer ground exam, do the flight test. simples ( i assume you have a jaa medical, so an faa one wont be a problem)

Thanks for your reply.
Is the Ground exam easier than the JAA ATPL's.

Yes, you can buy a book with all the questions and answers in. Gleim and asa are two names which spring to mind.
