Could someone enlighten me as to what the roundel in the photo represents.

The symbol in the roundel is the US Navy OT Sqn, VX-9, badge. Possible zapping!

I would imagine it has been zapped.

What a cracking photo for the rivet counters!

Hopefully means the '130 has been somewhere nice for a change, at least in the last 5 or 6 years anyway.
Love the rivets, by the way. Must save on break pad wear when strip landing.
Edit: @P6: Snap!

They regularly go to China Lake, which is of course where VX-9 are based...

Ah zapping. Remember the days when you couldn't drive through the country without seeing the TTTE train stuck on a road sign/ house/ cow?

I think the thing on the right shows that its battery is fully charged.

Copied from the BBC Website today....
Meanwhile, two Met Police officers are facing possible disciplinary action
after a sticker used for marketing purposes - reading "I've met the Met" - was
allegedly stuck onto a police van from a visiting force from Wales.
How times have changed! I trust that things won't get this bad in the military....

As a serving cop I can confirm that many in the force, sorry, service, go out of their way to be offended by anything they can. You have to do a full 360 check before delivering any banter these days. Mind you, the Met are lucky they can afford zaps. We can't afford big paper clips anymore!
