Hey guys,
I'm a 16 year old male and a PPL-A student in Norway at my local flight club.
I'm will go commercial, I am certain of it. So my question is... Can I, as a 17 year old (When i achieve my PPL) take the ATPL theory at that age?
Are there any requirements preventing me to do so?
Are the requirements between full-time and long-distance the same?

Yes you can!

The theoretical studies are only linked to the issue of LAPL, PPL, CPL and ATPL..
After you have successfully completed the ATP theoretical knowledge exams they will be valid for:

-A period of 36 months, for the issue of CPL or IR

-A period of 7 years for the issue of ATPL since your last IR entry in your licence

So theoretically, you can be 16 years of age to obtain an IR and at the same time take credit for your theoretical knowledge..

In your case, as you will be obtaining a CPL you will have to consider that you have to be 18 years old to do so and therefor any time between the completition of your ATPL theory and your 18th birthday will be ''dead time'' !

Lycka till!!:ok:
