Hello,

Hopefully someone out there can help me. I am looking for information about Polish pilots who operated in Scotland during the second world war. I have so many questions and would be really grateful if anyone had some knowledge they were willing to share!

Was the Polish Air force trained differently in Scotland than they were in Poland? Were they taught in English or in Polish?
Where did the Poles that made up the Polish Squadrons within Scotland come from during 1939-1944 when Poland was occupied?
Where did the Polish Air force recruit from? France? Canada?
Does anyone have any information about Polish women in any of the Polish Squadrons operating in Scotland?
And finally any information about Squadrons 307, 309 and 315 would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your time,
Emma

Hello,
You may already know this, but there is a memorial in Grangemouth to Polish (and other allied nations) pilots who died during the war. A quick google found this Polish Airmen Remembered, RAF Grangemouth, Scotland (http://www.derekcrowe.com/post.aspx?id=45)

I think the ATC unit mentioned in the article should be able to help.

Cheers,
Delight.
