Right, Mrs 622 is kindly taking me to an olympic event as a birthday treat..and has booked us into the UJ club for one night.
As part of my treat we have a meal booked in the restaurant there.

Are there any dress standards regarding eating there i.e. trousers, jackets, ties etc etc?

You can only take a small bag into the Olympic venues so smart packing will be essential !

No firm dress regs, but most people are smart casual. Don't forget your WW2 medals though!:=

You might well find a GS4 guy at the entrance handing out free smart casual clothing, and offering to drive you to the Olympics :E

Or you could go out to one of the very many excellent restaurants within 5 mins walk, eg the Waterloo Kitchen, the Anchor & Hope, the Skylon, Tas, the fish restaurant a few doors down from Tas whose name I've forgotten, and others. The UJ Club menu gives the impression of being a bit "1970s", although it does seem reasonably priced; I have no idea about the quality of the food.

Is that place still going? Stayed there as a fresh faced youth in 87 with the intention of going clubbing. Sadly I was a bit too fresh faced to get in any clubs. I wasn't very popular with my course mates that night!

Prices are average for Waterloo station, steak and chips about £15.
It's a bit Beefeaters / Harvester.
75m west Scottish Michelin star food (Maccky Dees) Big mac meal £5
65 M west, Cornish Culture Cafe (Pasties) £3
North under the Arches, 5 minutes walk towards footbridge over the river: lots of Italien / Steaks etc, real foood, real prices. Best place to go but £30 a head.
South of waterloo, £30 for head, Food an option.

Top tip for PPruners: when you miss the last train west, UJ club is better than the platform.

Eat somewhere else! It's is mediocre at best. I'd bimble along to one of the local restaurants.

Have a great time.
