Hey guys,

my dad lives in Brazil and I thought that it would be neat to rent a plane there and take him on a leisurely flight.

I'm a JAA PPL pilot doing his ATPL revision. I did my PPL in France and have nigh of 100h flight experience.

Today my dad spoke to a buddy of his who flies for pleasure and owns an aircraft and apparently I would have to do a "validation" that would take a couple of weeks to allow me to fly solo.

I always thought that all I needed was to go to a flight school or company that rents out aircrafts and do a check ride or two with them before being allowed to rent it out.

Has anyone here ever flown in Brazil that can tell me how it works?

Cheers!
