Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Pointe Noire, Congo? Thanks.

And for the hotels see Tripadvisor..there is a few good ones.

Anything to do there for a few days? Beaches look OK.

The Villa Mabida and the Atlantic Palace are the two big ones that crew tend to use. There's always a fresh load of crew floating about in the pool at the atlantic. The Mabida is by the sea - the beach is pretty good and the sea is great fun (strong rip so be careful).
Safe place to poke around and explore - lots of good bars (go to Daktari..) and heading up to the market area in the day is a laugh. Local streetside restaurants are brilliant for seafood.

I have a body board and flippers in my room down there - if you want to borrow them let me know.
