I would like to fly a pc 6 for a frienda company in india. What kind if a check ride/training is required? Not type rated in the aircraft either, could this be one check ride?

Your question is incredibly vague.
What registration is the aircraft on ?
I doubt if you d be able to get it registered in India that easily.
If the aircraft has an N registration, then you could fly it using your FAA ticket but flying an aircraft registered abroad in India requires incredible paper work and security clearance as well. Not like the states, where you could literally start the engines and go.
Hope it helps.
Oops engine :P (edited)

Sorry. This phone app is frustrating me. The aircraft is registered there. A friend wants me to fly 1-3 months there to help get the company going. Do I need a work visa or license conversion?

Am I still being too vague? The a/c is registered in india. I've heard the faa certificate transfers to jaa easily. But how long would that take since I'm only going to be there a few months.

Why not wait to post until you get home, get a proper keyboard and donīt have to write in short incoherent sentences. It is better for everybody.

Answer these questions..
Are you a Indian Citizen or a Non Indian ?
Do you have time in the type ?
Is the plane VT registered or N registered ?
Now if the plane is VT registered already and you are a foreigner search for FATA on this forum, this is the licence conversion, you will also need a Employment Visa, if you are in the USA have a look at Travisa.com for what you need .

I am a u.s. Citizen. The owner is an indian citizen so the ac should be registered there. I appreciate your response and will go threw that web site. I don't have any time in type either.

DGCA looks for a minimum of 100 time in type to fire up the engine(s). It can take weeks to months to do the FATA. Money changing hands between the right people can have an astonishing affect on the entire process.

Plus unless its in private category then you need a NSOP (think 135 certificate) which takes months if not a year to get depending on which city it will be based, and you need permission from the DGCA and Civil Aviation dept for the import, this again can take 2 months, then you need parking permission at an airport...security manual, the list goes on. PLus you need engineers trained and contracted, and the biggest thing is if the aircraft hasnt got a Indian type certificate already issued then you will to apply for that first.
But unless you can get the 100 hrs PIC on type before it changes to VT registration then you cant fly it in India as a expat. But then read the all weather ops section of the CAR and you will find some more experience requirements regarding monsoon season etc
Lots of ground work for the Indian person to do before you can leave for India. There are a number of people who can help them do all this if they have no experience.

Well guys. I appreciate the responses. The way out sounds, this won't be feasible even if I only needed half the requirements. I was looking for short term and this process could take a few months of being in the country. Thanks for your help
