looks like something really useable?

Focal Locus workstation splits the difference between sitting and standing (http://www.gizmag.com/focal-upright-furniture-locus-work-station/23177/)

Is there a seat on that, or is it just the handle of the broom that most employers expect you to have there?

I used to frequently use a shooting stick when wandering around shows etc.

Looks like someone's found a use for that old drafting table tossed in the back of the drawing office when CAD came on the scene.

Tony D:

If the two lateral handles, if you will, of that shooting stick were to break, I fear the result. It would certainly bring new meaning to a stick up one's buttocks, no?!!!!

I reckon it's an upgrade to a Zimmer frame for those who want to go skiing.

OMG rgbrock, http://mail.yimg.com/ok/u/assets/img/emoticons/emo11.gif... but of course I should have known that. Instead of a warm encouraging discussion about the benefits of the proper manner (to avoid alternative lexis apt to cause misunderstanding) of sitting (for hours, if needed), helped by the innovative device...

That's why one needed a respectable trusted Gunsmith such as Bagnall and Kirkwood like what I got Mr Rock.

Take the wheels off that ol' bike, attach them to the drawing board cum seat, make a fine soapbox racer - and you could work at the same time !

Actually, I thought that seat was modified from one of those poxy folding scooter things.

When I worked for a short while in a drawing office, it was seriously proposed that we should replace our existing drafting desks with something like this - and that was 45 years ago. Nothing new and all that . . .

but has anybody ever used anything like that?
And actually I'm quite serious - it IS a torture for me to stay put for hours (when translating). Would it be easier with a stand-chair like that?

Years ago, I am talking late 1960's, there was a brief fashion for a kneel/sit affair, exactly like that but kneeling.

Nothing new under the sun except a Higgs.
